“Anxiety in the heart of a man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.”
Proverbs 12:25 NKJV
In 1988, Bobby McFerrin wrote a hit song, called “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”. In the song, he wrote, “In every life we have some trouble, when you worry, you make it double. Don’t worry, be happy.” In life, it does not help to worry especially if there isn’t anything one can do about the situation. Too much anxiety and worrying can cause one to experience depression. During these times, it is good for one to be around people who can encourage and lift them up. Another way to deal with anxiety, depression and worry is to also read the bible. There are many scriptures in the bible that can encourage one’s soul. Ultimately by taking the focus off of themselves and focus on the word of God and the goodness of God, one will start to feel better.
Father God, we thank you that we no longer have to worry about our situation. We know You know what’s best for us. You did it for us more than once God and we know you will surely do it again. We trust You, Lord, in Jesus Name, Amen!
